Elections are just a year away and fundraising and other efforts are in full swing.  We have been active in supporting the Governor and industry supporters in both the State House and Senate.  To continue our success in making Alaska’s policies more favorable, we need to not only let our friends know we appreciate their support, but help ensure they have the resources to maintain their positions.

Recently, the Alaska Supreme Court ordered the Redistricting Board to redesign the legislative district boundaries to comply with the State Constitution requirements for legislative districts.  The Redistricting Board has approved a new plan, which combines several incumbents and creates several open seats.  While the Board does believe they met all constitutional requirements, there will certainly be additional legal challenges.  We will continue to provide updates on any district boundary changes which will have an impact upon the general membership or key leadership positions within the Legislature.
