Beating out nearly 100 entries, Princess Cruises' short film "The Heart of Alaska" video won the New York Independent Film Festival's award for Best Cinematography. The 26-minute film is a high-definition documentary that explores the wildlife, culture and people of Alaska through the eyes of locals while showcasing the Alaska cruise experience with Princess Cruises.

Through interviews with rangers from both Denali and Wrangell-St. Elias National Parks, Alaska Natives, homesteaders, dog mushers, a bush pilot, a captain from Fairbanks' riverboat and a mountain climber, viewers receive an insider's perspective of life in the 49th state. The film also takes a close look at the bears, moose, dall sheep, caribou and other wildlife of Denali National Park, as well as breathtaking views of Mt. McKinley and other Alaska peaks.
