The Alaska Cruise Association, and its communications agency, Marketing Solutions, won two major awards at this year's annual competition sponsored by the Public Relations Society of America, Alaska Chapter.
The association took first place in the special public relations campaigns for its overall 2008 communications efforts. The judges wrote that the campaign "did a good job of attacking the issues on all fronts" and used "good tactics to support the goals, good execution."
Cruise News, the association's monthly e-newsletter, received a second place award in external publications. Among the judges' comments: "Nice final product that seems to meet goals and has a professional appearance."
The awards are designed to encourage professional public relations performance and technique and acknowledge exemplary work in the field.
