Princess' can-do helps scouts

Boy Scout Troop 11 enjoyed a ship tour after thanking the ship's staff for their donated aluminum cans.

Princess Cruises & Tours received a special thank you from Juneau Boy Scout Troop 11, chartered to the Resurrection Lutheran church, for helping them raise funds by recycling aluminum cans.

For the past 13 years, Princess ships docking in Juneau have donated their crushed aluminum cans to the Scouts. Alaska Marine Lines provides free shipping to a recycling center in Washington.

The partnership has raised nearly $30,000 over the years, providing funds so local scouts can go camping, as well as attend the annual scout camp and National Scout Jamboree.

The Scouts were treated to a tour of the ship and pizza.
