Viking Cruise Ship
Viking Cruises will send its new ship, Viking Spirit, to Alaska the summer of 2019.

Viking Cruises will branch out to sail in the Far East and Australia/New Zealand in late 2018 through early 2019 and then in Alaska in summer 2019, Chairman Torstein Hagen said.

The new-build Viking Spirit will operate the itineraries.

“We have always had a vision to reinvent ocean cruising – to bring destinations back to the forefront of the itinerary and to build ships that are designed to help our guests better explore their destinations,” said Hagen.

“We launched our ocean cruises in Europe earlier this year and, just as the Viking explorers before us, we are now looking across the Atlantic for new discoveries. Our new itineraries in North America and the Caribbean will offer travelers experiences that broaden their horizons both on and off the ship.”

The ship is 745 feet long with 465 all-veranda staterooms. It can carry 930 passengers.
