Cruise Critic asked cruise ship passengers to rank Alaska’s ports of call during sailings from August 2015 to July 31, 2016. Here are the rankings.
#1 Glacier Bay
“This was by far the greatest part of the trip. The ship got us ‘up close and personal’ with the glaciers. Sitting on our balcony, you felt as if you could reach out and touch them.” – rpiwonka
#2 Sitka
“This is a delightful port. Our first time to visit and so glad we did. The highlights are the Russian heritage and influence on building construction. The Orthodox Cathedral was beautiful …” – nana2many
#3 Skagway
“Our favourite port. Beautiful location. Be sure to go to museum and sign up for walking tour … We all enjoyed Skagway.” – bawilliams2
#4 Juneau
“Easy to navigate – get a car if you want to see the surrounding area, especially Mendenhall Glacier. Great fresh seafood in practically any restaurant.” – ronandannette
# 5 Ketchikan
“We loved Ketchikan! It’s so cute, and Creek Street has an interesting and ‘colorful’ history.” – fdanna
